Artist Mickey Smith has been collecting contemporary jewellery since 1987, driven by a deep appreciation for unique, handmade, wearable works from around the world. As collector, maker and metalsmith, her practice has led to longstanding relationships with exceptional jewellers from Auckland to Minneapolis to Paris.

Working directly with these makers, in late 2025 Mickey will introduce a boutique, curated selection of handmade works, available exclusively offline, through intimate gatherings focused on around connection, conversation, and collection.

Hand Luggage

“We need more ways to slow down, look one another in the eye, and connect. In a world of constant scrolling and spectacle, there’s something quietly radical about pausing, about holding a handmade object, hearing its story, feeling its weight against the skin. This kind of intimacy can’t be replicated online, and that’s what Hand Luggage is about –– creating space for meaningful encounters with art, and with each other.”
